Assessment, Evaluation, and GradingEvaluation, Tchudi and Mitchell insist, is part of everyone's daily life. Teachers and Self-AssessmentTeachers should constantly evaluate their own work, especially when it concerns what they are asking students to do. Make sure that your assessments and your activities lead students to what you want them to learn, and assess what you want them to asses. Begin with the content standards, and work backwards from there; standards, assessments, activities, readings, discussions, ideas. That way, everything leads up to the assessment, which is created directly from the standard.
